Gemma Headstart Program Coordinator in HoupsitasKCFN is hiring for a Full time Gemma Headstart Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Director of Education.
The Gemma Head start Coordinator is responsible for the management and delivery of the Head Start Program in Houpsitas.


Job Responsibilities
• Prepares and submits required reports
• Ordering necessary materials and supplies
• Works in collaboration with parents and other agencies
• Help facilitate a replacement worker when absent
• To maintain the inventory of all equipment and supplies in the program.
• Operating hours to be consistent with school schedule
• Participate in upgraded education and training programs as required
• Attend all staff meetings, community meetings as required

Education and Experience
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
ECE or TA certification and or a willingness to attend post secondary training
Work experience in the field is an asset
Excellent communication, computer, organizational and planning skills

Youth Workers, looking for two youth workers, one working out of our Houpsitas Office and one working out of our Campbell River office. Key Duties:
The Youth Workers will be responsible for working with youth at home and away from home. The Youth Workers will collaborate with other programs such as the Warrior Program. The Youth Workers will support KCFN youth to reach their self-identified goals and start programs that are identified through engagement with the youth.

The duties of the Youth Workers will included but are not limited to:
-Being the voice for the youth at tables that are meeting during school hours
-Mentoring youth and supporting youth wellness and safety at all times
-Connecting with parents/guardians and community to identify needs for our youth
-Being appropriate with confidential and sensitive matters
-Maintaining the equipment
- Encourage KCFN history, language, and culture with the youth
Preferred Qualifications:
-Be organized
-Communicate effectively with Elders, youth and families
-Computer skills is an asset
-Able to work independently and with a team
-Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector search required
-Current Class 5 driver's license (or will obtain)
-Small vessel Operators Ticket (Including ROC and MEDA3) (or will obtain)

Elders WorkerPosition Summary
The Ka:yu:'k't'h'/Che:k'tles7et'h' First Nations (KCFN) is looking for a Elders Worker. The Elders worker will be working out of our office in Kyuquot and have a special focus on our Elders. This role will fall under the Community Services Department and report to its director.
Key Duties:
The Elders Worker is responsible for working with all the elders at home and away from home. The Elders Worker will collaborate with other programs and departments to support our elders. The Elders Worker will support KCFN elders and create opportunities where elders and other generations can come together.
The duties of the Elders Worker will include but are not limited to:
-Being the voice to support our elders and know what their needs are.
-Support elder wellness adn safety at all times
-Connecting with elders and their families to identify needs for individual elders.
-Facilitate places for elders to gather and build a program where multiple generations can interact
-Encourage KCFN history, language, and culture with the elders

KCFN HR ManagerSummary: The HR Manager maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. The HR Manager will report to the Director of Operations. Must bed willing to travel between Campbell River and Houpsitas Office.

Qualifications:

-Several years of experience as a personnel officer or human resource specialist are required

HR Manager is responsible for the following:
Duties:
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
-Maintains employee benefits programs and managing employee updates
-Supporting the directors in the interviews and hiring process.
-Preparing employees by conducting orientation and training programs.
-Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning and implementing pay structure revisions.
-Ensure planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees
-Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources and Labour relations strategies including policies, programs and procedures to address an organization's human resource requirements
-Advise employers and employees on the interpretation of human resource policies, compensation and benefit programs and collective agreements

Fleet ManagerThe KCFN Fleet Manager will report to Herb Ey the Director of Public Works. The successful candidate will work out of the Kyuquot office.
Job Summary:
KCFN is seeking a permanent full-time Fleet Operations Manager. The Manager will oversee and manage the maintenance, overhaul, repair and security of the KCFN fleet vehicles, boats and equipment.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years' recent related experience in fleet management, project management, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment and sound administrative experience, including related education and certificates.
Possession of a Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License, SVOP and a Criminal Record Check.
Responsibilities for Fleet Manager
-Schedule maintenance and repairs on vehicles, boats and equipment
- Develop a strategy for decreasing vehicle cost
- knowledge and the ability to follow all vehicle, boat, equipment safety, standard, regulations and laws.
Qualifications for Fleet Manager:
-Ability to coordinate, schedule and audit vehicle maintenance and repairs to vehicles, boats and equipment
-Quick at identifying patterns and trends
-Organization and time management skills

Head Start Support WorkerThe Gemma Head Start Support Worker is responsible to support Families of Children aged 0-6 years old.
The Head Start support worker reports directly to the Director Of Education.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible for the delivery of resources, outreach, and programs for Gemma Head Start families.
-Prepare and submit an annual Narrative report for First Nations Health Authority.
-Supervises and supports all families within the program.
-Ensures that there are the necessary materials and supplies available to always meet the needs for GHS Families.
-Works in collaboration with Houpsitas Preschool-Kindergarten, parents, health care professionals, Nuu-Chah-Nulth Early Years Outreach worker, and other agencies to foster and develop the individual children's potential
-To provide or assist in providing hot breakfast and/or hot lunch for families once a week.

Job Qualifications:
-Grade 12 or higher
-Experience working with children
-OFA Level 1 or Childcare First Aid
-Food Safe
- Driver's License beneficial
